A sad time for media arts practices and history – from Laurie Anderson’s classic, “At the Shrink’s: a fake hologram” (1977), which was a part of the early De Appel collection, to Time Based Arts extensive range of video art, to the more recent net art collection which De Geuzen was a part of. This chapter in our rich history closes. It will certainly have consequences on the archiving of these diverse practices both in the Netherlands and abroad.
